Are you hungry for something fresh & new to inspire you?
Join us for a 3-week crash-course/deep-dive in Integrative Alexander Technique and the Total Vocal Freedom approach!
Over the past 5 years nearly 1,000 singers from around the globe have participated in our programs and learned how to use Alexander & TVF principles to improve the quality of their singing and performing.
In this introductory course, you will do the same, building a solid foundation for lasting vocal freedom.
You will learn how to integrate (hence the word “Integrative”) simple and practical tools into your singing to help you reliably access a free body and your best voice.
This course is designed to be a user-friendly guide to the human body. (Or: “Essential-Information-That-You-Probably-Didn’t-Learn-In-Your-Musical-Training!”)
The intensive nature of this course (weekday classes for 3 weeks straight) allows for the possibility of creating deep and long-lasting positive changes in your singing, performing and life.
NOTE: Even if you can’t attend some (or any) of the classes live, you will still get a LOT out of the course from the recordings. We understand that this course is during the working day for many people. That’s why we’re making the audios downloadable so you can listen to them on your commute and in your spare time.
Singers, voice teachers & performers of ALL ages, genres & skill levels are welcome to join.
The only requirement is a desire to learn & grow!
What You’ll Learn
Here are some of the main themes we’ll be exploring together over our 3 weeks together:
Integrative Alexander Technique
Learn how to skillfully integrate the ground-breaking discoveries of F.M. Alexander into your singing and performing.
Even though it may not look this way, the freedom you seek is already available inside you. You’ll learn the “keys” that will help unlock your innate freedom.
We are whole beings. Every part of us is connected to everything else. Recognizing this fact will have tremendous positive implications for your singing.
Quality of Movement = Quality of Sound
Singing is movement so the quality of our movement determines the quality of our sound. Learn how constructive thinking serves as the fuel for quality movement and healthy vocal sounds.
Posture & Alignment
Two necessary ingredients for healthy singing are a comfortable, natural singing posture and a well-aligned body. Learn the posture/alignment ideas that help and the ones that hurt.
Because of our upright bipedal nature, balance is a primary concern for human beings. Knowing the 6 main points of balance will help you create a sense of security and confidence in your body making it much easier to move and sing with freedom.
Learn a simple understanding of breathing, one that focuses on anatomical truths and the primary role of our thinking and overall body coordination in determining the quality of breathing.
Body-Mapping is a process by which we align our ideas of our body (which are sometimes inaccurate) with the actual truth of the design. The result? Greater freedom and ease.
Integrated Performing is about weaving together the inner and outer world of the performer into one unified experience, what Frank Pierce Jones called, “The Unified Field of Attention.” Integrated Performing creates the conditions for deep and impactful music-making.
Connection Over Perfection
We’ve found that when you make connection your primary concern (instead of perfection) the quality of the musical experience improves for everyone involved.
More Confidence, More Joy
Our students report that they experience greater confidence and joy in their singing after they’ve learned the principles in this course.

What TVF Students Say
“If you want to round out your vocal training, even for a seasoned pro, then you really need to consider adding TVF for its emphasis on freeing up your body to enhance your voice!”
–Tracy Van Fleet, Mezzo-Soprano, Los Angeles, USA
“In TVF, I’ve gained confidence in performing and in my own abilities, I’m becoming more and more motivated for work and developing my skills, I’ve learned the importance of reflecting on my work, I have clearer goals now and am more capable of finding the way to reach them.”
–Marijana Cirkveni, Soprano, Zagreb, Croatia
“After working with a laryngologist and a speech therapist for vocal cord paresis I was ready to retire from my professional career of 40 years. The TVF Academy turned everything around for me. I found freedom and ease where I used to find stress both in my voice and my daily life. It has transformed my teaching as well!”
–Lisa Rogers Lee, Singer & Voice Teacher, Chicago, USA
“TVF has totally transformed my teaching in so many ways. I have gone from a very vague teacher to a very specific and informed teacher. I am learning a new more patient and kind way to teach. I am being given the tools to teach in a student-motivated way; encouraging them to ask questions and explore so that they are better equipped to learn on their own. I am learning how to teach my students to be more kind to themselves and grow in confidence in their singing. There is not an area of my teaching that hasn’t been made better because of my work in TVF.”
–Karen Archbold, Singer & Voice Teacher in Chicago, USA
